Russia's Lyudmila Samsonova won the Tokyo Open today, by defeating 19-year-old Kenwen Zhang of China.
It took Samsonova, ranked 30 in the world among the women's tennis players, to two hours and 7 minutes to defeat Zhang in two sets without a response, with a score of 7-5 and 7-5.
This is the third title for Samsonova, 23, after the Washington and Cleveland championships, and the fourth in her career, after she won the Berlin Championship in 2021.
