Eliud Kipchoga, the runner from Kenya, broke the world record in the marathon today (Sunday) in Berlin with an unprecedented result of 2:01:09 hours.
Kipchoge, who is considered one of the greatest athletes of all time and won the marathon for the third time, also broke the previous record from the 2018 Berlin Marathon which was 2:01:39 hours.
The Olympic champion in Tokyo 2020 and Rio 2016, who has already gone under two hours before, again deservedly received the gold medal after almost breaking the two hour barrier with just 400 meters to go to register another powerful achievement.
