Two months from defending its title of world champion, the French team did not show its best face this Sunday in Denmark (2-0), conceding its third defeat of the year in competition.
Antoine Griezmann commented on this poor performance in the mixed zone.
How do you view the performance of the French team?
ANTOINE GRIEZMANN.
We did the first thirty minutes where we were playing well, then we had huge problems on the corners that we couldn't resolve at the time and then we took this goal which hurt us and they too came to fetch us high.
We tried to play, we didn't have the confidence at that time to come out from behind.
We spoke at half-time to settle two or three things and we weren't effective in both areas.
There were a lot of novelties in this French team, was it difficult to find automatisms?
The coach wants to see the players, we try to find solutions.
We do not want to say that it is the fault of many changes.
On the corners we were not good and that does not matter the players.
It's the mentality, you have to win the duels.
In front, we were a little shy, we missed the last gestures.
It does us good before the World Cup...
Are you worried?
Not at all.
We have the group and the coach to aim very high, so it's up to us to work, to put everything in place to be ready for the World Cup.
What lessons do you learn about this Danish team that you will find at the World Cup?
We knew it was a complicated team.
In Europe, it doesn't matter who you play against, it's complicated.
The teams are working very well tactically and we saw that again tonight (Monday).
It's up to us to adapt and prepare for the World Cup.
