Iran has been busy in recent days with the hijab protest which is causing quite a bit of a mess in the streets.
As you may remember, riots broke out in the country after the death of 22-year-old Mehsa Amini, an Iranian who was arrested by the modesty guards and allegedly beaten while in custody.
Today (Monday), the striker of the Iranian national team - Sardar Azmon - played in Leverkusen in a brave way against his country, which could cost him a place in the squad for the World Cup in Qatar in less than two months.
"According to the rules of the national team, I am not allowed to say anything until the end of the training camp, but I cannot remain silent," Azmon said. This post will not be deleted," he added.
Thread: Sardar Azmoun, an Iranian football player who plays for the Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen & #Iran's national team, declares his support for #IranProtests2022.
He is the first player currently playing for the national team to do so.

Azmon has 64 appearances during his career in his national team's uniform, in which he scored 40 goals, so if he is punished by the local association, it is a big professional blow for the Iranians who will play in the World Cup in Group B along with England, USA and Wales.
