A few hours before the Malta national team will host the Israeli national team for a friendly match, a big storm broke out around the Maltese, when coach Debis Manja was suspended by the Maltese association and will not stand on the lines in the game.
The reason: one of the players of the Malta national team complained about Manja and claimed that he sexually harassed him.
The Maltese Association received a complaint report about the incident that allegedly happened on Sunday.
According to the report, the Italian coach was asked to give his response to this complaint, but refused to respond and demanded that the media speak to the local association, which decided to suspend him and investigate the affair.

Manja was appointed coach of the Malta national team in 2019 and under his baton the weak team rose from 184th to 169th in the world in the FIFA rankings. Manja signed a contract until December 2023, but is not expected to continue because of the incident
. In a short response, they claim that Manja was "temporarily released" from his position following a complaint received. The association did not provide details beyond that, but promised that the Italian coach will answer all questions and the details of the case will be published later when they have more details.
