She did it!

Israel's junior team qualified for the Junior Euros for the third time in its history this evening (Tuesday), after beating Ireland 1:3 in a penalty shootout.

It went as close, as dramatic as possible: after the 1:1 in Dublin, the scoreboard showed 0:0 at the end of 90 minutes in Bloomfield, then 0:0 also at the end of 120 minutes.

Guy Luzon's stars have already gone to the bench, but you don't need shining stars when you have Daniel Peretz in goal.

The goalkeeper of Maccabi Tel Aviv deflected three kicks by the opponent, and sent the team almost single-handedly to the tournament that will be held next summer in Romania and Georgia.

What a wonderful evening.

"Indescribable moments, it's a happiness that is very difficult to reach", concluded the hero of the evening Daniel Peretz.

"It was so dramatic. We were so close so many times, and now we talked before the game, we said that we die on the pitch and don't miss this opportunity. It's amazing. It was a super-tough game, we were much more dominant and could score at least 3- 4 goals, but everything from above. From the overtime both teams were very tired, we saw that this game would go to penalties, and I had already prepared myself in my head."

During the duel Peretz looked several times at the note he had in his pocket.

On this, he said: "It's a note I prepared in advance, it was more psychological, I wanted to show the opposing players that I know them. I looked them in the eyes, talked to them and that's what happened."

"I was waiting for penalties."

Guy Luzon, who slapped Zio Morgan during the game, concluded by saying: "We had enough opportunities, we dominated, but from the 115th minute I was waiting for penalties, I was afraid that a goal could fall here or there, but in penalties I knew we could do it. I didn't want to take a risk at the end and be stung in an outburst. I believed it would be fine. We were worth a win in this game, and in the end the better team won. I am happy for these players. I experienced the Euros in 2013, and I am happy for the players, for all the children and fans who were here, I arranged for all the players a vacation in Bucharest. When I arrived at the team I said That I believe it is possible to take the team to the Euros, I am happy that I arrived, it was the right decision, and we are facing the Euros."

This achievement comes after the success of the youth team and Luzon was proud: "They kept talking about the mentality of the Israeli player, I never believed it. We have the best soldiers in the world. This is nonsense. I went through many games, many anthems, today it moved me to tears" .

On the decision to take out Gloch and Abeda in overtime: "Lyall ran out of air. I felt that Ireland started to dominate the midfield. I believed that we would get into situations without them. You have to take unpopular decisions - but what is right"
