The last game in the quarter-final stage of the Winner Cup was played tonight (Tuesday) and provided us with an intriguing battle for the fourth ticket to the semi-finals.
Oded Ketch's new Maccabi Tel Aviv played their first game of the season when they met Rami Hadar's resurgent Hapoel Gilboa/Galil in the new Enerbox hall in their room and after a close game throughout, won 75:85.
For Oded Ketch's apprentices, the game was the first official game of the season, after an intriguing summer in which the team underwent a change of direction and registered an impressive acquisition campaign, but also a negative balance of one win compared to four losses in the preparatory games.

The team in red, which beat Hapoel Be'er Sheva/Dimona in the eighth stage and this was the second game of the season for them, looked a little better at the start and even took the lead at the beginning of the first quarter thanks to some wonderful moves by Justin Gorham, but then the yellows led by Daron Hilliard entered the game and balanced the game .
The northern team had a great start to the second quarter and went on a run that gave them a double-digit advantage, but then Roman Sorkin got involved and brought the Tel Avivians back into the game at the end of the second quarter and established a tie at the break.
The second half continued to be tight with both teams showing a beautiful offensive game but unable to make stops in defense to escape their opponent.
The tough group from the north managed to stay close to the yellows for three and a half quarters, but then Bonzie Coulson led the yellows to a seven-point lead, from which the reds were no longer able to return.
Scored a lot for Maccabi Tel Aviv: Bonzie Colson 16 points, Wade Baldwin 15, Roman Sorkin 12
