Israel's junior national team qualified for the European Championship tonight (Tuesday), for the third time in its history.
Guy Luzon's players did the job against Ireland and secured their place in the tournament that will be held next summer in Romania and Georgia.

When will the 2023 Youth Euro be held?
The opening day will be on June 21.
The final match will be held on July 8.

In four stadiums in Romania, and in four stadiums in Georgia.

On October 18 in Bucharest, Romania.
How many national teams are participating?
16 - two hostesses and another 14 who qualified from the qualifiers.
So who will be there?
Hosts:
Romania and
selected Georgia that qualified as home leaders in the qualifiers:
Belgium, Spain, Germany, Portugal, England, Netherlands, France, Italy, Norway.
Qualifying after finishing as the best runner-up:
Switzerland.
Teams that qualified from the playoffs:
Ukraine, Czech Republic, Israel and Croatia.

Four houses of four teams.
The first two will qualify for the quarterfinals.
How do you qualify for the Olympics?
The three teams that finish in the highest place at the end of the tournament will secure their place in the Olympic tournament in Paris (France, the host, has already secured its place).
Who are the favorites to win?
Germany comes as the reigning champion, having lifted the title in 2009 and 2017 as well.
Spain, who won in 2011, 2013 and 2019, should put up a strong fight as well as Portugal, who lost in the 2021 and 2015 finals.
Of course, you should also take into account England, the European under-19 champion, who will showcase some of the players who brought them the title against Israel.
Italy will be looking for a first win since 2004, France is dreaming of a first win since 1988.

How did Israel rise?
Unlike the previous tournament in 2013, which it hosted, this time Israel qualified thanks to an excellent qualifying stage.
It started when they finished second in Group B with 19 points from ten games, ahead of Poland, Hungary, Latvia and San Marino.
It then overcame Ireland in the play-off stage.
Who from the current squad will be able to play?
Everyone - the rules of the tournament say that any player born after January 1, 2000 will be able to take part in the championship.
Guy Luzon does not have any players born earlier in the squad.

What did Israel do in the previous Euro?
In 2013 - even then with Guy Luzon on the lines - Israel finished third in Group A with four points.
It started the championship with a 2:2 against Norway, continued with a 4:0 defeat at the hands of Italy, and ended with a prestigious 0:1 against England, in a game for protocol only.
