Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of Paris Saint Germain, has denounced Barcelona's behavior in an interview with the

Politico

agency .

"It's fair?

No, it's not fair...Is it legal?

I'm not sure", replied the president of the Parisian club when asked about the levers or sale of assets that the Barça club has made to balance the accounts and be able to face signings such as Lewandowski, Raphinha and Koundé, whose total amount exceeded 150 millions of euros.

“If they allow it [referring to UEFA], others will do the same.

UEFA, of course, has its own regulations and they will surely look at everything, ”insisted Al-Khelaifi, who is also opposed to the Super League project led by Real Madrid and Barcelona.

“I am sure that no one will allow the Super League to happen.

We need to think of everyone, not just ourselves, and therefore we must respect our fans”, concluded the PSG president.

Relations between the Paris club and Barcelona have been especially tense for a long time, and especially after the departure of Neymar, for which Al Khelaifi's entity paid the termination clause of 222 million.

The Brazilian has reunited with Messi at PSG, when both players were also protagonists of Barça's comeback in the Champions League in March 2017: 6-1.

Curiously, UEFA fined the Parisian club 65 million this summer for failing to comply with financial

fair play

, as Camp Nou sources recalled when asked about Al Khelaifi's accusations.

Eduard Romeu, economic vice president of the Barça club, stated this Tuesday precisely in an interview with

Catalunya Ràdio

: "Without sounding presumptuous, we have saved Barça, but we are not financially healthy."

“A lot of austerity and rigor is needed;

there is a lot of work to be done”, settled Romeu.

The Barcelona vice president was also asked about a possible return of Messi to Barcelona: “This is a technical and player decision;

in any case if he came back he would come for free, so he sure could come back”.

Salary mass

Romeu insisted that the club has invested a lot of money in the remodeling and rejuvenation of the squad and perseveres in reducing the wage bill.

“Barça will be healthy in five years”, concluded the Barça director while estimating the losses due to the move to Montjuïc next season due to l'Espai Barça to be less than 100 million.

Romeu did not rule out, on the other hand, that the club could face a new signing in the winter market if necessary: "If there is a need for some complement to the important effort that has been made in the summer, we would have to study it."

On October 9, FC Barcelona will hold an assembly of compromisers by telematic means - formed that has already been criticized by some members - in which it will give an account of the club's situation and will submit a budget for approval for the 2022-23 season of 1,255 million with a profit forecast of 274 million.

The liquidation of the 2021-2022 financial year will also be voted on with a record turnover of 1,017 million and a profit of 98 million.

The activation of the levers has been key to the presentation of these numbers.

Romeu announced that all kinds of explanations will be given to the partners in this regard.
