On September 19, on a Parisian barge, Bridgestone presented the team of athletes that the manufacturer will support until the 2024 Paris Games. Between judoka Amandine Buchard, parathlete Mandy François-Elie and fencer Manon Apithy- Brunet was the reigning world decathlon champion Kevin Mayer.
A little over a month after having had to withdraw from the European Championships, where he had wanted to take the crazy gamble of continuing after the Worlds in July, the decathlete, twice silver medalist at the Games in 2016 and 2021 , took the time to look back on his year.

Kevin, how have you been since you retired from the 100m decathlon at the European Championships on August 15?
Kevin Mayer:
It's going great, thank you.
It took me a long time to recover from the decathlon at the World Championships in Eugene, which was harder on my body than I had originally imagined.
