Novak Djokovic practices on the beach in Tel Aviv (from Twitter)
The round of 16 matches at the Watergen tournament in Tel Aviv are now closed with the last and central meeting, when Novak Djokovic, who is ranked first in the competition and is known to be ranked seventh in the world and the best tennis player in the history of the sport, faces the veteran Spaniard Pablo Andojar, who is ranked 115th in the world.
Djokovic is going through a difficult year - it started with his ejection from Australia in light of the fact that he refused to be vaccinated against Corona, absences for the same reason from competitions in the United States and with disappointments in Dubai, Monte Carlo, Madrid and of course at Roland Garros where he lost the title, but continued with a Grand Slam win His 21st at Wimbledon and of course at the United States Championship he was not allowed to participate.
Last week he participated in the Labor Cup where he succumbed to Felix Oja Aliasim.
Unlike Djokovic, the 36-year-old Andohar began his journey in the first round in Tel Aviv and he opened with a 6:7 (3), 1:6 victory over the Brazilian Thiago Monteiro.
The last time Andohar and Djokovic met was about a decade ago, in 2012, when Djokovic met the Spaniard for the second time in his career and maintained a 100 percent success against him.
Awaiting the winner in the quarter-finals is the Canadian Vashak Pospisil, who earlier today knocked out Idan Leshem.
Having fun in Tel Aviv, at least for now.

game move
Set 1:
Djokovic certainly started the match with a statement of intent going forward.
After winning his first service game 15:40, he broke the Spaniard in the second game of the match and soon gained a double lead.
"Nola" continued to run the Spaniard from side to side and did the same in the fourth and second games that Andohar served, on the way to 0:4 in less than fifteen minutes.
