Norway's Casper Ruud, ranked second in the world among professional tennis players, qualified for the quarter-finals of the 250-point Seoul Tennis Championships, which is held on hard courts.
Rood succeeded in qualifying, after overcoming the obstacle of his Chilean rival, Nicholas Garry, by two sets to one, with a score of 6/2, 3/6, 6/3, in an hour and 41 minutes.
In the next round, Roode will meet Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka, who in turn defeated Japan's Taro Daniel 6-2 6-4.
