Blake Griffin has signed a season-long contract with the Boston Celtics for a minimum contract

After a year and a half as a substitute player for the Brooklyn Nets, the 33-year-old forward will join the Greens in order to thicken the squad following the injuries.

A new station for Blake Griffin.

The 33-year-old forward, in the past one of the biggest stars in the NBA and in recent years who mostly dealt with injuries and left the Brooklyn Nets this summer after a year and a half with the team, agreed with the Boston Celtics on a full contract for next season.

Griffin, a six-time All-Star, will earn nearly $3 million on a minimum contract.

Last season was the first in his career in which he came off the bench more times than he started in the top five, it was also the first season in which he averaged less than 25 minutes per game and, of course, the first time he averaged less than 11 points.

He also joins the Celtics to be part of the squad and not a leading player, especially after Danilo Gallinari was injured and it is very doubtful if he will return this season and Robert Williams is also injured and will be absent for at least the next two months.

In fact, last season Griffin made only 58 appearances in the Brooklyn uniform, two of which were in the playoffs, and during the regular season he averaged 6.4 points per game and averaged only 4.1 rebounds.

His record game last season was against the Denver Nuggets in the first week of February, when he scored 19 points in a 124:104 loss.

Griffin joined the NBA in the 2010/11 season and after eight seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers, he moved on to Detroit and then to Brooklyn.
