Soccer superstar Neymar advertised for far-right incumbent Jair Bolsonaro shortly before the presidential election in Brazil.
The Paris St. Germain attacker posted a video on TikTok in which he smiles and sings along to a song calling for a vote for Bolsonaro.
Bolsonaro, who was recently well behind leftist Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in polls, tweeted Neymar's video and added "Thanks, @neymarjr!" as a comment.
A new head of state will be elected in Brazil on Sunday.
The day before, Neymar, who has more than eight million followers on TikTok, over 58 million on Twitter and almost 180 million on Instagram, thanked the radical right-wing incumbent Bolsonaro for a visit to a children's center he had founded in São Paulo.
Communications Minister Fabio Faria and Bolsonaro's son distributed a corresponding video message from the captain of the Brazilian national team.
Bolsonaro is an avid football fan and often appears in club kits at campaign events and even official events.
