Jan-Christian Dreesen will leave FC Bayern in the summer of 2023.

A successor for the Chief Financial Officer and Deputy CEO has already been found.

Munich – Chairs back at FC Bayern Munich: The German record champions announced on Thursday morning that CFO Jan-Christian Dreesen will leave the club “at his own request”.

The 55-year-old does not want to extend his contract, which ends on June 30, 2023.

Dreesen also acted as deputy chairman of the board of FC Bayern München AG and has been one of the most important people in charge at FCB for almost ten years.

On February 1, 2013, he took over the post of Chief Financial Officer.

He also became Executive Vice President on February 12, 2014.

Dreesen has also been a member of the DFL Executive Committee since August 21, 2019.

Michael Diederich becomes his successor

The good news from Bavaria's point of view: A successor has already been found: Dr.

Michael Diederich (57) takes on the duties of Chief Financial Officer and Deputy CEO.

Diederich currently works as spokesman for the board of Unicredit Bank AG.

He has been working there since 1996 and has held many different management positions.

He knows FC Bayern very well: Diederich has been a member of the supervisory board of the AG since 2018.

FC Bayern also announced: "Michael Diederich will be appointed as a regular member of the board of directors of FC Bayern München AG from April 1, 2023, in order to ensure a smooth transition together with Jan-Christian Dreesen in the three months that follow until July 1, 2023 transition until he takes office as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President.”

President Herbert Hainer is quoted in the message as follows: "On behalf of the entire FC Bayern, I would like to thank Jan-Christian Dreesen very much for his outstanding commitment and his great achievements for FC Bayern." With a view to his successor, he added : "We are convinced that Michael Diederich will make an important contribution to a successful future for FC Bayern Munich."

Hainer also described Diederich as an "outstanding financial expert with a valuable network and strong leadership qualities".

Oliver Kahn's new deputy said: "I've been with the club for a long time, first as a fan and for four years as a member of the supervisory board.

Therefore, I am particularly happy that I will be a member of the board in the future.”
