Denklingen's coach Markus Ansorge has to improvise again when it comes to the "squad".

The home game on Saturday is against FC Neuhadern.

Denklingen - For the football fans in Denklingen it is a situation to despair.

VfL, so accustomed to success in recent seasons, is ordered to descend by the unpredictable foehn wind of the district league south.

But, is this really the truth?

Coach Markus Ansorge looks at the situation objectively and realistically;

its classification is correspondingly more differentiated.

"Things have almost always gone up in the last four years," recalls Ansorge.

"This is more like normal mode."

Of course things aren't going as hoped.

The search for the lightness of the past season, which ended in third place in the district league, has so far been unsuccessful.

In addition, the absence list is extended by at least one name every week.

Ansorge looks at the results of his team and states that six of ten games were not lost.

"It's not a catastrophe," the 55-year-old clarifies.

Especially not in a balanced, hard-to-predict league with lots of illustrious results.

The best example, because it is up-to-date: FC Neuhadern, on Saturday (4 p.m.) guests at the Denklinger Sportpark.

Remarkable results at the beginning were followed by clap against Penzberg (2:7) and Wolfratshausen (0:4).

For Ansorge, however, they are less of an indication of the actual performance of the Munich team.

"They beat Murnau and Deisenhofen," he emphasizes.

With a view to the standings, the game is a so-called six-point game.

Bearing in mind the similar number of points scored by both teams, it's a matter of going up or down in the ranking.

The loser slides into the relegation zone.

"The table is not the issue," says Ansorge.

He knows that with two wins you can quickly regain support in midfield.

Rather, the question will be with which team such successes can be achieved.

Denklingen's squad is at its limit, decimated far beyond the norm.

"You can't get more bad luck with the staff," regrets the coach.

The return of long-term failures is still a long time coming.

In addition, Manuel Waibl is another first-choice central defender.

Waibl fell on his knee during the match in Wolfratshausen.

Dominik Karg's old injury resurfaced during training and Tobias Schelkle is prevented.

Moritz Tykowski is also looking rather bad, while Johannes Greif is still hoping for a timely recovery.

At least Martin Krimshandl is available again.

Conversely, that means: Andreas Schiessl has to play injured if that's really feasible, and with Benjamin Maas and Niklas Schnuerch there is a duo in the starting XI that usually kicks in the B class.

Renewed improvisation is necessary, because Ansorge has to "adapt our tactics to the staff".

Confidence in the remaining team is given at all times, despite all the odds.

"As a coach, I accept the challenge and the players on the pitch do the same," assures the VfL coach.
