Four days before the Israeli judo team took off for the World Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the athletes completed their preparations.
The only one who got on the podium last year at the championships in Budapest is Gefen Primo, who competes in the weight up to 52 kg, when she won the bronze medal. This year she will try to go as far as possible one more time and maybe change the color of the medal.
"Every world championship starts from scratch, it's not like I'm starting from the finals this time," said Primo.
"I did a really good preparation and feel good, I'm going to fight for it, which turned out to be the best this year as well. The coaches and the team are doing an amazing job, we are very cohesive within ourselves, encouraging each other. Really one unit."
The Israeli delegation to Tashkent,
Toher Botbol (73 kg), also hopes for a successful championship: "We are doing tough and intensive preparation, and I really look forward to competing and doing my best.
In terms of fitness and physicality, I feel great, ready for my day.
He arrives ready beyond 100 percent and hopes to realize his potential at the highest levels."

Shira Rini, competing in the weight category up to 48 kg, said: "I feel really good, we had a good preparation and it's always fun to reach a big competition.
I don't give chances, but I can guarantee that I will give everything I can like I did in the big competitions.
I need to believe in myself more, I know what I'm coming towards."
