The SpVgg Mauern is now having a hard time after flying high at the beginning of the season.

A series of tricky tasks begins with the game against Au.

Mauern/Au

- TSV Au is certainly not the ideal opponent for SpVgg Mauern to overcome their low.

On the other hand, a win against the Hallertauers in the home game on Sunday at 3 p.m. would certainly give coach Georg Pfuller's team a boost.

After the dream start with three victories in a row, there is a spanner in the works for the promoted team.

In the last five games there was only one three and four defeats.

Wall coach Pfuller: "The leading players have to do better"

According to Pfuller, this is partly due to "the fact that the hospital is so brutally full for our two men's teams".

On the other hand, the aggressiveness in a duel and the unconditional will to score have been lost.

Last Sunday, SpVgg suffered a 2-0 defeat at SC Freising, although they were not significantly worse than their opponents.

But in the game forward the accuracy was missing, the last pass came too rarely.

"In the game on Sunday we have to show more presence.

We have a few top players, but like in Freising, you can hardly see them.

The leading players have to do better so that the young kickers can get up on it," says the coach.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Black and Schermbach meet at Au like on an assembly line

This is currently working quite well in Au after difficulties at the start of the season.

Last week, coach Sepp Summerer gave special praise to 21-year-old Noah Ziegltrum, who put in a top performance against Vatanspor player-coach Deniz Sari.

The district league relegated could not really shine against the bottom of the table.

But with patience and an unconditional will to win, the green-whites got the upper hand as the game went on and scored through their two goal scorers on duty, Alex Schwarz and Dominic Schermbach, for a deserved 2-0 win.

The striker duo has so far spread fear and terror among the district class defenders with a total of 17 goals in eight games.

After four victories in a row, the Hallertauers are now in third place.

A concentrated performance is needed again against Mauern, demands a confident Summerer: "Mauern is a climber and initially had the euphoria and momentum to make a top start.

But, like with Zolling, I don't think they have the potential to play at the top." His colleague knows that too: "October will be brutal.

We're playing against Au now, then in Vötting, then comes Nandlstadt, and at the end of the month there are two derbies in Hörgertshausen and against Gammelsdorf.

Nevertheless, we want to score.” BY JOSEF FUCHS
