SV Raisting has rediscovered its defensive strength in the football district league.

On Sunday it's against MTV Berg.

Raisting – The wall is up again.

And he's getting more stable every week.

SV Raisting has only conceded one goal in the past six district league games, thus restoring its reputation as a defensive power in the class.

Time to ask Johannes Franz how he managed to plaster the crumbling wall again.

"It was a process," says the Raistinger player-coach before Sunday's home game against MTV Berg (3 p.m.).

After proper preparation and starting without conceding a goal (0:0 against FC Deisenhofen II), unknown dropouts crept in.

Position mistakes, ball losses, "the bottom line is individual mistakes," says the coach.

This defensive chaos resulted in seven goals conceded in the home games against Aubing (0:3) and Haidhausen (2:4).

"We got the hang of it."

This all happened six weeks ago.

Since then, the Raistingers have been patching one leak after the other week after week.

First, Franz analyzed the horror games.

He eliminated the gross mistakes with personnel castling.

For example, he pushed Christoph Schmitt into attacking midfield because he is a booster, but not a classic sweeper.

Just an example.

"It's no coincidence that we were often in good shape," praised Johannes Franz. Again and again he had to use kickers in foreign positions.

As long as we have three points in the end, I don't care about the result.

Johannes Franz, player-coach Raisting.

The situation has improved over time, even if the back four continues to change more frequently.

Basically, only player-coach Franz himself and his neighbor Thomas Bretthauer are set.

For lack of alternatives, as Franz emphasizes.

“I would wish for more competition myself.

Just because I'm a player-coach doesn't mean I'm on the right track.” Central defender Bretthauer also has his ailments at the age of 31, so he could use a break from time to time.

With the exception of Florian Breitenmoser, who is often in demand for shift work, they have no other central defenders.

Overall, he is satisfied with his colleague Bretthauer.

It's not often that someone in their early 30s is still so inquisitive, says his trainer.

Especially since Tom has already completed various seasons in the district league (Penzing, Aubing, Pasing, Kaufering).

"Absolutely exemplary," Franz praises his newcomer.

He is now expanding his strengths in playmaking, calmness and robustness.

"He made a leap forward in defensive work."

The last two factors for the resurrection of defensive power can be found at the front as well as at the back.

With Bayernliga experienced Urban Schaidhauf and Thomas Höringer, the SVR has the best goalkeeper duo in the district league.

Even if that didn't have to intervene so often in the past few games.

The offensive has a much larger share in the strong series of four games without conceding a goal.

She has found fun again in chasing the ball from the front.

"The strikers are outstanding," praises Franz. Ultimately, one can only say that the entire team deserves credit for the fortress standing again and its gate being locked.

At the weekend there is a chance to distance opponents Berg.

With only seven points from ten games, MTV is stuck in the relegation swamp.

Nevertheless, coach Franz says: "Berg is extremely difficult to play on." MTV sent a first sign of life with a 4-2 win over Neuried.

Hannes Franz would therefore like to take home a 1-0 win – Raisting's favorite result at the moment.

"As long as we have three points in the end, I don't care about the result."
