Danny Avdia did not play in Washington's first preseason game, which lost last night (Friday) 96:87 to Golden State in Japan.
It is still unclear whether the Israeli, who is suffering from an injury, will be able to play in the additional meeting between the two teams on Sunday, but for the season itself he will be eligible.
The one who is enthusiastic about Avdia's third season in the best league in the world is Frank Ross, one of the main scouts of the Wizards.
"You could see at the end of last year Danny's improvement in creating moves off the dribble, leading explosive attacks and shooting better outside the arc, you could see his confidence improving. He played well in the summer as well. I expect big things for him this season, because his body has gotten stronger - And that's the key."
Ross, who in his role travels around the country to watch young talent and then reports to general manager Tommy Shepherd, added: "It's normal for young players to get a little off track. I'm sure Danny will be a better finisher, because last season he missed some layups. All this comes with maturity, with getting stronger and with the ability to finish better near the basket."
Everyone expects improvement.

Last year he improved to 8.4 points (43 percent from the field), 5.2 rebounds and 2 assists per evening.
