It smells of sweat in the hall of the Apollo Sporting Club in the 19th arrondissement of the capital.
Three hours a week, Tim Arby has been hitting the punching bags placed along the wall for a year.
And then, at regular intervals, this amateur boxer takes out a small folding table to lay out... a chessboard.
Then begins another reflection, more cerebral, for the 39-year-old Ile-de-France resident.
This Saturday, October 1, he will compete in an exceptional gala at the Cabaret Sauvage, on the other side of the ring road, his first chessboxing competition, a discipline that alternates rounds of boxing and chess.
"With a little stress," he admits.
