Marin Cilic won tonight (Saturday) in the semifinals of Watergen Tel Aviv and he is the one who will meet Novak Djokovic in the battle for the title.
Cilic, ranked second in the tournament and 16th in the world, won a long and exhausting battle against the French Constant Lestain (68th in the world) with the result 5:7, 3:6.
The game rose to a high level with the Croatian's tremendous Serbian strengths and on the other hand, his opponent fought and reached almost every ball and also surprisingly opened with 2:5 in his favor.
In the end Lestain got tired, when at the end of the first set he also asked for treatment because of pain in his right shoulder but came back and continued to play until the loss.
The battle between Cilic and Nola for the title will be the 21st ever meeting between them, with the balance clearly leaning in Djokovic's direction, who leads 2:18.
