A major disaster occurred tonight (between Saturday and Sunday) in a soccer match in the first league in Indonesia, after at least 129 people lost their lives and hundreds more were injured, following a riot that broke out at the end of the match between Arma and Persabaya Surbia.
Local media reported that dozens of fans died on the field at the Canjurohan Stadium in Malang after they stormed the field at the end of the match.
Some of them died due to pressure, and at least 30 of them were pronounced dead on the spot.
Many fans were rushed to the local Kanjurohan Hospital and Wawa Hosada Hospital.
Ahmad Hadian Lukita, president of the Indonesian league, said: "We are very concerned and sorry for this incident. We share our condolences and hope this will be an important lesson for all of us."
Persabaya's official Twitter account posted on Saturday evening: "Persabaya's extended family deeply mourns the loss of life after Arma's match against Persabaya. We pray for the victims and give strength to the families left behind."

All remaining BRI Liga 1 matches scheduled for this week have been suspended following the incident, while the Indonesian FA have confirmed that Arma will not host any further matches for the rest of the season.
Persabaya Surabaya won the match - in the East Jarwa derby - 3:2, which caused thousands of fans of the Arma team to enter the playing field from the stands.
This led to a number of local police and members of the Indonesian Armed Forces trying to enforce security, but to no avail, as the Persabaya players were escorted off the pitch, but their bus was stoned.
After the break-in, severe clashes took place between the security forces and the fans on the field, when objects were thrown before the security forces started using tear gas, which also reached the fans who remained in the stands.
Two policemen were also among the dead.
