Perez likes the rain

Two wins this season for Sergio Perez and both have been achieved on a wet track.

And each time, the Grand Prix did not come to an end.

After Monaco at the start of the season, the Mexican therefore offers Singapore.

“Checo” likes the rain and city circuits.

Second on the grid, the number 2 of Red Bull jumped Charles Leclerc from the start, thus offering almost the victory.

Then, Perez perfectly mastered his single-seater on this tricky track, contained Leclerc's various attacks and spun towards his fourth career success.

Very solid.

McLaren, the big hit

Sixth on the grid, Lando Norris had a good chance to score big points on Sunday and the Briton complied.

Author of a very clean driving, the Briton won a magnificent fourth place in Singapore but what about Daniel Ricciardo?

Sixteenth on the grid, the Australian, at the heart of a very complicated season, finally took a good fifth place.

The McLarens held their tires very well and took advantage of the safety car provoked by Tsunoda at mid-race to waste as little time as possible in the pits and put on the tires for dry track.

A job well done which allows the British team to score 22 points and equal their best performance of the year obtained at Imola at the start of the year.

Aston Martin signs its best Sunday of the year

The green cars finally shined.

13th and 14th on the grid, the points zone was not easy for Aston Martin but the two drivers took advantage of the wet conditions to get the best out of their car.

Lance Stroll signs his best result of the season with a sixth place in Singapore while Sebastian Vettel finishes eighth.

This allows Aston Martin to score 12 points and climb to seventh place in the constructors' standings with 37 units on the clock, three more than AlphaTauri and Haas.

FLOPS

Alpine, the double abandonment

It could be expensive.

The two blue cars were forced to retire on Sunday at Marina Bay following engine problems.

If Esteban Ocon was out of the points area, this was not the case for Fernando Alonso, sixth when he retired.

After Monza, Alpine signs a second weekend in a row without a point and inevitably McLaren benefits from it.

With 22 points scored, the British team regains fourth place among the constructors with 129 points, four more than Alpine with five races to go at the end of the season.

Verstappen, a weekend to forget

His Friday had been disrupted with very few laps.

On Saturday, when he was about to take pole, his box forced him to cut his attempt because of a lack of…petrol.

Unusual mistakes that were repeated by the future double world champion in the race.

On Sunday, he first missed his start, falling from eighth place to twelfth.

Put back in the game thanks to the safety cars, the Dutchman once again made a mistake on lap 40 by attacking Norris, locking his wheels and pulling straight.

Modest seventh on arrival, the Batavian will have to wait at least a week to be crowned world champion for the second time.

It will be enough for him to score eight points more than Leclerc or ten more than Perez.

Latifi, always so ridiculous

The Canadian is the first driver to provoke a safety car in this race.

The reason ?

The Williams driver did not see Zhou Guanyu's attack and the two cars collided.

Nicholas Latifi, forced to retire like the Chinese, was logically penalized five places on the grid in Japan and two penalty points on his Super License.
