After the prestigious victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv and the return to the top of the Premier League, Maccabi Haifa flew to Turin this evening (Monday), for the away game against Juventus as part of the third round of Group H in the Champions League.
The Greens lost 2:0 in Lisbon to Benfica in the opening round, took the lead against Paris Saint-Germain and lost 3:1 at home afterwards, and now dream of a first point and perhaps even of making history with a sensational away victory that will be the first ever on the main stage of Europe.
To date, there have only been two cases in which an Israeli team obtained an away point: Maccabi Haifa with 3:3 in Greece against Olympiakos in 2002 and Hapoel Tel Aviv with 2:2 in Lyon in 2010.
Since then, by the way, there have been 14 consecutive Israeli losses in the group stages.

Ahead of the match, Maccabi Haifa presented the new uniforms with which they will appear in Turin.
Tomorrow, the champion will hold the final training in the morning and then she will also hold the official press conference, before the entrance of Yom Kippur and the beginning of the fast.
