After victory against Memmingen: Tölzer Löwen want to build on a good start against Lindau.
Bad Tölz – A first flight of fancy.
But the Tölzer Löwen should not lose their grip after the 5:2 win in the opening game.
"Almost everything went well against Memmingen," says coach Ryan Foster.
"But we mustn't be too high now." The next touchstone awaits after Sunday's game-free match during the week: On Tuesday (7.30 p.m., Tölz) the relegated team from DEL 2 welcomes EV Lindau as their next opponent.
stay grounded
A team that Foster does not rate as strongly as Memmingen before.
A 2:6 defeat against Passau was followed by the Indians with a 7:1 victory at EHC Klostersee.
“They are quite good at fighting and running, they finish their checks and have good forechecking.
We have to build on the performance against Memmingen.” Foster liked both his team's fighting spirit and the will to win.
"Everyone did their job, we were very disciplined, everything was very positive, we played the first game well, but now we can't take Lindau lightly either."
EVL: Notable players in the squad
On the contrary: For Foster, the next game will also be a "difficult game".
Also because the Indians from Lake Constance have a few well-known players in the team: There is Daniel Stiefenhofer from Bayreuth or Vincenz Mayer from the DEL 2 as well as talent Alexander Dosch from the German DEL 2 runner-up Ravensburg or the ex-Tölzer lion Nico Kolb , who recently scored two goals against Klostersee.
Matthias Nemec (Heilbronn, Freiburg, Riessersee, Ravensburg), who also has experience in the second division, is in goal.
The head has to play along
It will also be a challenge for the lions because the head has to play along.
But it's better to start the season with a win than not.
That much is also clear.
And not only did Nick Huard hit well in his first game for Tölz, who prepared two goals.
But the talents also drew attention to themselves against Memmingen: Alexander Fichtner, Ludwig Nirschl and Oliver Ott ensured the rapid 3-0 lead at the first break.
And Tyler Ward confirmed himself as a goalscorer, scoring the last two goals after setting up one.
Timo Sticha (injured), Dimonik Gißibl, who is back in training after an illness, and captain Philipp Schlager will have to do without the Tölzer team.
But Foster sticks to the lineup.
"There is no reason to change anything," says the lion coach.
"We only have to improve small things."
