Sadio Mané has long been an integral part of FC Bayern.
Now he has spoken openly about his start and his mini-crisis in Munich.
Munich - "Mané scored a goal, which is important and played a good game, I'm very satisfied." After four games without a win in the Bundesliga, Julian Nagelsmann was more than satisfied last Friday.
FC Bayern Munich defeated Bayer 04 Leverkusen 4-0.
Crisis over?
At least another crisis child stopped his dry spell: Sadio Mané.
The Senegalese scored after five goalless games to make it 3-0.
In an interview with UEFA, he spoke about his initial difficulties at FC Bayern and what he particularly likes about his new team.
Sadio Mané talks about his initial difficulties at Bayern
"Moving from one club to another is not easy," Mané told UEFA.
After eight "very nice years in England" he is now "in a new country".
"It's not easy because everything changes so suddenly: people, training, everything," the Bayern star continued.
Ex-Bayern professional Paulo Sérgio doesn't surprise Mané's problems either.
At Liverpool FC he split the scoring with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
Now, in Munich, "he's the superstar and has the pressure almost alone," says Sérgio at
Bild
.
From Didi Hamann's point of view, Mané is also used incorrectly at Bayern.
Accordingly, the 30-year-old is missing a target player at the front.
Hamann emphasized two weeks ago that Mané is currently acting like a "foreign body" in the Munich game.
What Mané likes about the Bayern squad
Mané himself sees the situation calmly.
Even more: Despite the criticism, the winger is "very happy" with his start on Säbener Straße.
"I knew that and it was no surprise.
It happens exactly as I imagined.
The people at the club are great," he enthused.
There are many "youngsters who are enormously talented and promising" in the Bayern squad.
And: “We have a very, very young squad.
It's the first time in my career that I'm part of such a young group.
What really strikes me is that they are all hungry.
Everyone wants to develop further and is also attentive.
The training sessions are as intense as the games.
It's important because I think it makes a real difference." (nc)
