Former track and field star Tim Lobinger has spoken openly about his aggressive cancer and how he's being forced to prepare for death.

Berlin/Munich - Tim Lobinger, formerly a successful athlete in the ranks of the German Athletics Association (DLV), is in the midst of a difficult battle against a deadly disease.

After a rapid relapse due to cancer recurrence, the 50-year-old is forced to confront his impending death.

The former pole vaulter speaks openly to

about his dramatic situation and says that he and his loved ones have to prepare for his approaching death.

"There will be no more healing for me.

My cancer is too aggressive,” explains Lobinger and describes how doctors took away his hope for a future.

Tim Lobinger: Ex-athletics star should deal with approaching death

In February, doctors told the father of an ambitious footballer that his death was near.

He should make arrangements, deal with his funeral and say goodbye to his loved ones.

“Talking to my kids was tough.

You know how bad I am.”

Some time ago, Lobinger spoke about the return of cancer and a special day when he was allowed to hide his health situation:

Lobinger fights blood cancer - "Gain strength and don't lose hope"

In March 2017, the ex-world and European champion was diagnosed with blood cancer, and in the meantime Lobinger was able to win a stage against the disease: after chemotherapy, stem cell donations and a brief liver failure, the four-time Olympic participant was considered healthy again in the summer of 2018.

However, as in so many cases, the deadly danger has returned, in 2020 Lobinger had to undergo therapy again and received additional radiation, at the end of 2021 the situation apparently got noticeably worse again.

In addition, the ex-professional and indoor specialist survived three corona infections.

So far in 2022, Lobinger has apparently already spent at least 150 days in the hospital.

"It's not real life.

Life worth living takes place outside," explains FC Bayern star Joshua Kimmich's buddy.

The two passionate athletes have had a close relationship for years. According to the midfield driver from Munich, Lobinger even saved his career.

Even if Lobinger has to deal intensively with his death: he does not want to give up the fight against blood cancer: "There are always small ways that allow you to gain strength and not lose hope."
