Christophe Galtier (PSG coach, held in check by Benfica Lisbon 1-1):
“Benfica had a big burst of energy in the first half, pressing us, looking for depth, which put us in difficulty.
Our team block was well positioned, quite compact, but it lacked too much pressure on the ball carrier.
We had a strong moment in the first half after our goal but without creating situations for ourselves.
We conceded a goal by taking too many risks on a ball exit.
In the second half, the team was more aggressive.
We had more situations without being able to score a second goal.
Each team had their highlights, goalkeepers on both sides made important saves.
The feeling is mixed.
There was the desire to get out of the opposing pressure through short play and between the lines.
We often got there but it lacked verticality and percussion.
VS'
was an incredibly intense match against a confident opponent.
(About the big foul on Marco Verratti sanctioned with a simple yellow card, Editor's note) The referee was not helped by the VAR.
Marco Verratti may have a broken leg.
The referee can be wrong but he should have been alerted by his assistants since the opposing player puts both feet on Marco Verratti's leg.
