After an intriguing summer and building a completely new team, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Oded Ketch will open their European season in the Euroleague tomorrow (Thursday, 21:05) with an intriguing home game against Zalgiris Kovna of Lithuania and ex Keenan Evans.
The coach of the team spoke before the game: "We are very excited for tomorrow.
The opening game of the Euroleague season and I'm sure there will be an amazing atmosphere here.
We hope to start the season on the right foot, you can't say that we are 100 percent ready at this stage of the summer.'
"We have a difficult opponent waiting for us who made some interesting signings, traditionally against Lithuanian teams we will have to control the rebound and slow down their pace of play, these are our keys to the game."
The captain of the yellows, John DiBartholomew, said before the match: "We are very excited to start the season and see all the fans again in the first home game of the season.
Zalgiris is the first opponent, they have played several games so far and we have seen that they are a tough and good team.'
"We will meet Keenan Evans and I am sure he will come with a lot of motivation.
It depends on us, we will have to come concentrated, focused and aggressive in order to win.'
Daron Hilliard shared his feelings before the game: "Zalgiris is a good team.
They historically field good teams that play tough basketball and I and we will have to be ready for that.'
"I think it's an important test for us, glad it's at home in front of our amazing crowd and I'm very excited for it.
Josh Niebo gave us some tips but we know them and know what they are made of.
They are a tough team, there will be a strong and good game and we will have to come and play.'
