The Erding ski club has not had an easy time.

Erding – The corona pandemic was not only noticeable in view of the many canceled events, but also in the membership status.

Chairman Christian Loy gave an overview: "In September 2020 we still had 872 people, two years later the number had shrunk to 776." The main reason for this is the many canceled ski courses, such as the popular children's event in January: "That's usually one one of the big highlights with nice growth for us.” At least there were courses again in February, albeit with a few restrictions: “The parents had to drive their offspring to the slopes themselves.

Nevertheless, 70 kids came, that's a great success," Loy said happily.

If something could be done, the members of the ski club always showed spontaneity: "The different regulations and restrictions were also mastered."

However, there were other problems with indoor training, not only because of Corona, but also because of the closure of the Semptsporthalle.

But the members of the ski club didn't let that get them down.

On the contrary: With nice campaigns such as the delivery of food to the citizens of Erding on Mother's Day or the Headback Challenge - here the association presented itself via video and achieved first place in the competition - attention was drawn to itself.

A fundraiser for the Ukraine was also a great success with around 3500 euros for medical aids and medicines.

First and foremost, however, it's about skiing on the slopes, and as a DSV ski school, the people from Erding are at the forefront.

The around 40 active instructors trained by the DSV teach around 240 children and adults how to move on the slopes every year.

Ski school manager Andreas Walter emphasized: "We are one of the largest schools in southern Germany." The friends of the teachers are transferred to all participants in the courses: "We always have fun." The fact that the courses worked again in February made everyone happy : "We were practically able to ski the slopes alone with the 70 people." A highlight was the final race, in which the people from Erding once again played a major role.

The second chairman, Martin Walter, emphasized that you always stay on the ball with young people: “It motivates us all when the kids are happy to be there.” He reported on a five-day trip to the Stubai Glacier, where everyone trained very well had.

In view of the restrictions, there was an innovation: Instead of eating in restaurants, everyone brought their own snacks: "It was very popular and we will keep it.

This also saved money.” This seems necessary because everything is becoming more expensive.

Christian Loy also announced increases for multi-day trips.

Treasurer Klaus Katzscher then reported a slight loss.

Overall, the treasury fell by around 5,600 euros to 71,713 euros: "But the income for the advertisements in the program booklet is still missing." The BLSV funding also did not come on time for the financial year, otherwise the loss would have been reduced to 270 euros.

Finally, some members were happy about the honor for long-standing membership in the Erding Ski Club.
