Turmoil behind the scenes in the capital: as part of an attempt to improve financial efficiency, Guy Witkowski, the VP of Operations and Development, was fired from his position.

Less than two months have passed since Barak Abramov officially became the owner of Beitar Jerusalem, and already these days there is a big storm in the club, and not because of the bad results of the team, which is in last place in the table.

Israel Hayom learned that during the last two and a half weeks, several employees were invited to hearings, as part of a new wave of cutbacks and layoffs at the club.

The VP of operations and development, Guy Witkowski, who was also the actual event manager for the team's games at Teddy Stadium for over 3 years, was fired from his position. In addition, one of the media personnel ended his position, and was replaced by a part-time employee. Another media personnel increased his salary to stay.

It was also learned that the team's fitness coach, the Spaniard, Telmo de Andres, was asked to cut the conditions he had in his contract.

As a result, he had to spend several days in a hotel, until he found an apartment according to the new conditions.

The club's spokesman, Assaf Nahum, was also asked to cut his terms.

The official with the details claimed that: "where they can cut, they will cut", so it is not clear whether additional employees will have to cut their wages or terms of employment in the future, or if they will find themselves outside the club.

The move in question is part of economic efficiency and probably also due to the desire to meet the budget, after Abramov added 7 players in the transfer window.

Regardless of these cuts, Beitar has already saved about two million shekels this year, following the departures of Eli Ohana and Moni Brosh, who according to his contract will officially leave in December, even though Kafir Edri is already serving as CEO.

Those reductions and cuts are supposed to save Beitar more funds that until this season were an integral part of the budget.
