It was a premiere and it was a complete success.

For the first time in Hörlkofen the district cup of the long distance shooters was held.

Hörlkofen – The organizers and the participants from the district were more than satisfied.

And with Felix Kaprfinger there was also a two-time winner from the district.

"Everything went smoothly and was generally well received," enthuses district distance warden Robert Karpfinger.

It was thanks to him that the competition could take place in the district of Erding.

Because District 4 doesn't have that many active shooters, they joined District 3 and it was like double district championships.

Robert Karpfinger had found the right slope in Hörlkofen – the street behind the HSV clubhouse.

"It's long enough, wide enough and level enough," explains Karpfinger.

It was only a little narrow, but the stick shooters got along well with it.

The width warden of the municipality of Wörth pays special praise.

"They were very accommodating to us, even the street was swept - for a small fee," says Robert Karpfinger.

And then there was the mayor, himself an avid stick shooter.

"Thomas Gneißl was there for almost the entire event," says the Weitenwart, who was responsible for the implementation together with state coach Florian Kloiber.

The organizers also salute those responsible at Hörlkofener SV.

"Chairman Wolfgang Well and his people helped tremendously, they did a great job," says Robert Karpfinger enthusiastically.

"And the catering in the clubhouse was generally highly praised."

"The weather was fine all day, it didn't rain," says Robert Karpfinger.

"Only the wind was a little annoying - it stopped just when the competitions were over." That's how all five rounds in the age groups from U14 to Ü50 were handled without any problems.

What also made him very happy: "There were spectators all day long, on average there were always 20 to 30 who stood on the street."

33 reports had been received in advance for district 3, ten for district 4. "Some canceled at short notice due to illness, but it was still a strong field," says Robert Karpfinger with satisfaction.

Felix Karpfinger, who chased the stick to 90.20 meters in the U19 competition, provided the longest distance of the day - this distance was not achieved by any other shooter that day.

For the U23s, 88.69 meters was enough to win.

Felix Karpfinger was only 24 centimeters ahead of his teammate from SC Oberhummel, Maxi Kloiber, who then clearly won the men's competition with 86.17 meters.

Felix Karpfinger did not start in this age group.

The three best shooters in each category have qualified for the Bavarian championships, which will be held in Freilassing on the Epiphany weekend in 2023.

In the over 40s, Florian Kloiber won with 83.80 meters, in the over 50s Robert Karpfinger with 51.89 meters.

"But that wasn't art," says Robert Karpfinger with a grin.

"We were the only participants." He leaves it open whether this event will take place again in the Erding district in the future, but he says with a smile: "It can't be ruled out again."
