Sevilla have sacked coach Julen Lopetegui after just one win in 10 games this season, the Spaniards announced late at night.
Loptegi's 170th and last game in Seville yesterday ended in a painful defeat to Dortmund (4:1) in the third round of the group stage of the Champions League, a result that left Sevilla with one point after the first round of the prestigious factory.
Sources have told ESPN that former Sevilla boss Jorge Sampaoli is the frontrunner to replace Lopetegui.
Sampaoli led Sevilla to fourth place in the 2016/17 season before leaving to coach the Argentina national team.

The 62-year-old coach, who left Marseille in July, will try to revive the team that is currently in 17th place in La Liga, with five points from a possible 21.
Loptegi, who also coached Real Madrid in the past, is wanted by the English Wolves, who fired Bruno Laga, who was fired after a bad start to the season in the Premier League.
