Successful home game start for the Gladiators.

The Erdinger Puckjäger clearly won against ESV Buchloe on Friday evening with 8:2 (2:1, 3:0, 3:1) goals.

Erding – "We have to avoid penalties," coach Andy Becher had demanded of his team.

But after just 93 seconds, Rudi Lorenz had to go to the penalty box.

And just 24 seconds later, a slap shot from Philip Zabel landed in the Erdinger net to make it 0:1.

The Gladiators didn't really get into the game until youngster Christoph Furtner simply shot the puck in the direction of the goal and ESV keeper Johannes Wiedemann pushed the disc into his own goal to make it 1-1 (15th).

It was the first Bayern league goal for the 20-year-old Furtner.

And just two minutes later, Erding turned the game around: Florian Zimmermann scored to make it 2-1.

The second period began with a deliberate shot by defender Simon Franz to make it 2-1 (23rd minute) - it was his first goal for the Gladiators.

Erding followed two manpower games – but Buchloe had the better chances.

But Gladiators goalkeeper Christoph Schedlbauer brilliantly destroyed two breaks.

After that, the hosts really exploited their chances, but then the power play finally worked: Mark Waldhausen heaved the puck from the blue line into the net to make it 4:1 (32nd).

Three minutes later, Erding Elias Maier and Buchloes Moritz Simon got into a fight and had to go into the dressing room early.

The next fistfight was fought a little later by Erding's Mario Strobel and Buchloe's Lucas Spindler, but they each received only 2+2 penalty minutes.

In the four-on-four game, Abkampfer made it 5-1 six seconds before the end of the period.

In the final third almost only Erdinger marched to the penalty box.

But when it works, then it works, and so Zimmermann increased to 6:1 (48th) outnumbered.

Michal Petrak scored to make it 2:6 (49th), but Abstreiter (56th) and Murphy (59th) added two more goals.
