Müller decision for BVB duel made: Nagelsmann announces his plan

After FC Bayern has freed itself from its form crisis, the next threat is the Covid crisis.

Müller and Kimmich are suffering from Corona - can they be on the pitch on Saturday?

Munich – Thomas Müller was recently unlucky: Crisis with FC Bayern, two failed games in the national team and his house was broken into.

Then the upward trend: The Munich team won the match against Bayer Leverkusen 4-0, Müller himself scored the fourth goal.

But the next setback followed immediately: both Müller and Joshua Kimmich tested positive for Corona and had to go into domestic isolation.

The anxious question now is whether both are fit again for the Bundesliga classic against Borussia Dortmund.

Coach Julian Nagelsmann has been optimistic over the past few days: Since both players are not prone to muscle injuries and can cope well with a break in training, he hoped that they would play until the end.

But it was also clear: The players have to test themselves so that they can stand on the pitch.

Sports director Hasan Salihamidzic was also in a positive mood: "I spoke to them, both of them are actually in a good mood.

They have no symptoms, they are fine.”

Thomas Müller cannot compete against BVB

Nagelsmann's plan for the match on Saturday is now clear.

Both Kimmich and Müller have tested themselves.

Nevertheless, the Weilheimer will not be on the pitch - although Corona negative, he still has cold symptoms, reports Nagelsmann on Friday.

Müller is not 100 percent fit and will therefore not train with the team yet.

There is hope for Kimmich – Nagelsmann is still open about his commitment: "We'll wait for Joshua's training and then decide whether he'll come along and what makes sense."

Müller has played 40 times against Dortmund

The timing for Müller's absence is extremely unfavorable: the Bayern squad had just calmed down with the wins against Leverkusen and Pilsen.

To keep it that way, a win against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday is immensely important.

Both teams are equal in the table with 15 points, FC Bayern is only ahead of Dortmund because of the better goal difference.

Müller knows his archrival inside out: he has played 40 matches against BVB so far.

He contributed 12 goals and 9 assists to the success and is only surpassed by ex-colleague Robert Lewandowski in the statistics.
