Paris Saint-Germain fought hard to keep Kylian Mbappe this summer.

The big star signed a new contract after a campaign of persuasion and at least financially, it definitely paid off for him literally.

In the "Forbes" ranking published today (Friday) it was determined that Mbappe has overtaken Messi and Ronaldo and is the highest paid footballer in the world, when he earned 110 million dollars this year and in addition brought in an additional 18 million from advertisements and sponsorships.

In doing so, Mbappe overtook his teammate Messi, who according to the new ranking earns "only" 120 million dollars a year compared to Mbappe's 128 million dollars.

Cristiano Ronaldo is far from his peak as a footballer, but when it comes to the bank account, he is still in the top 3 with a salary of 100 million dollars a year.

Neymar, the third star of Paris Saint-Germain ranks fourth with 87 million dollars and Mohamed Salah from Liverpool closes the top five with a salary of 53 million dollars.

Where is Erling Holland you ask?

The Manchester City meteor jumped to sixth place with an annual salary of $39 million.

The one who closes the top ten is Kevin de Brauna, but in front of him are two (almost) past players such as Eden Hazard and Andres Iniesta, yes yes Iniesta who once played in Barcelona.
