The first round of the Premier League closed tonight (Saturday) with four games.

After the victory over Zalgiris Kovna, Maccabi Tel Aviv meets Eruni Nes Ziona at Hichal Menorah.

The Galilee derby brings together Hapoel Gilboa/Galil and Hapoel Galil Alyion in Gan Ner.

Hapoel Beer Sheva is looking for a home win in the opening round against Sharon Drucker's Hapoel Haifa.

Maccabi Tel Aviv - Municipal Nes Ziona

The dramatic victory over Zalgiris Kovna gave Maccabi Tel Aviv air and confidence at the start of the season.

Oded Ketch's team passed the first hurdle in Europe, and will now play two league games until a streak of three Euroleague games.

Maccabi wants to get as many players involved as possible, both foreigners and Israelis, and alongside the desire to look good and win, Ketch will take advantage of the game to get some of them into the rotation.

The coach left out Bonzie Colson, Josh Niebo and Austin Hollins.

On the other hand, Lior Carrera's injury last week disrupted the plans of Nes Ziona City, which had high expectations for the start of the current season.

The Oranges agreed on the addition of Ronnie Harrell, ex-Gilboa/Galil, but in the meantime he has not arrived in Israel and Elad Hassin will use the five foreigners at his disposal, including two that look less good so far - Shaq Buchanan and CJ Williams.

Oded Ketch put Lorenzo Brown, John DiBartholomew, Darren Hilliard, Jarel Martin and Alex Poithers in the top five, Martin and Hilliard started well and set 8:18.

The substitutes Jake Cohen and Roman Sorkin also did the job and took care of the

Hapoel Gilboa/Galil - Hapoel Galil Upper

Rami Hadar's team had a good preparation for the season, which looked good both in the Winner Cup and in most of the test matches.

Gilboa has six foreigners, with London Ferents being the sixth foreigner who is currently not dressing as he is recovering from an injury.

On the other hand, last season's surprise from Kfar Bloom wants to repeat the success, but has already encountered difficulties.

Last week, Galil added Lotan Amsalem to the squad from Po'el Tel Aviv, but the forward already injured his knee in a practice match and will be absent for an extended period, so that Barak Peleg's squad includes only four significant Israelis as of now: Nimrod Levy, Roy Huber, Yahal Melamed and Harel Rinsky, with Iti Moshkovich Back from a long injury and if he plays he will get a few minutes.

Despite this, in Galilee they believe in the squad and want to come out with a Magen Ner victory.

Upper Galil got off to an excellent start, scoring 8 of its first 9 attempts for 2 points, and ended the first quarter with a

15:22

lead .

In the second quarter the gap grew to 17:35, on the way to

30:47

At halftime, with 15 points from Bryce Washington.

Hapoel Beer Sheva/Dimona - Hapoel Haifa

After a long summer of changes, Hapoel Beer Sheva, which also added Dimona, opens the season with a lot of expectations.

Lior Liubin on the lines formed a completely new group of foreigners with some interesting Israelis who will try to continue to progress in the uniform of the southern team.

In recent days, Be'er Sheva added the guard Kalil Ahmed, and they believe that Ras Smith, who rarely played in the Winner Cup after being slightly injured, will look good and lead the back line.

On the other hand, after qualifying for the group stage in the European Cup, Hapoel Haifa added Richard Howell as another Israeli reinforcement to Sharon Drucker, who has only four foreigners, given the situation in the league, but a deep Israeli squad.

Haifa has a lot of expectations, also in the European factory that will start this week, and they know that the first game in Beer Sheva should show them the way at least at the start of the season.

The first quarter was close: Joaquin Shuchman stood out for the host with 9 points, Amit Simhon scored 10 on the other side and at the end the Haifaites led

.

Anthony Hickey took over the next few minutes, and Haifa went to the locker room

with a 44:47

lead .

Urban Kiryat Ata - Bnei Herzliya

More than two weeks have passed since Shkarit Ata were one-sidedly defeated in the Winner's Cup by Hapoel Tel Aviv, and Sharon Abrahami's team arrives with the belief that their first home game will look completely different.

Amin Stevens who was absent from the game in the Winner Cup dressed.

Bnei Herzliya, last season's hot team, started the current season on the left foot.

After a loss in the quarterfinals of the Winner Cup, Oren Aharoni's team was defeated in the opening of the Champions League and it reaches the first round of the league to avoid a snowball.

The club knows that life in the league is supposed to be more difficult in light of the very limited Israeli squad, and hopes for a good ability from Sandy Cohen and Yair Kravitz, the two leading Israelis.

Kiryat Ata led for most of the first quarter thanks to good minutes by Emin Stins, and ended it with a

14:18

lead .

The turnaround was completed in the second quarter, thanks to Morris Kemp, Chris Babb and Quentin Hawker, who gave Herzliya

a 30:38

halftime lead.
