Tölzer Löwen have to watch out for agile Passauers at home
Bad Tölz – The first league point game for Josef Hölzl: The Tölz goalkeeper made his debut between the posts in the home game of the Tölzer Löwen against the EHF Passau Black Hawks (this Sunday, 6 p.m., Tölzer Eisstadion).
For the first three games, Enrico Salvarani tried to keep the discs off the goal.
Coach Ryan Foster has not yet decided on a clear number one.
reduce distances
He thinks highly of both keepers and is currently using a kind of rotation with extra time: After a maximum of three games, the other goalkeeper comes into play – if he has played flawlessly up to that point.
And that's somewhat true of Salvarani.
"But so that they don't have to sit on the bench for too long, it's now Hölzl's turn - no matter how his colleague sold against Klostersee on Friday."
Meeting of two undefeated teams
And the 22-year-old will definitely get something to do, the lion coach is sure.
Passau had a good start to the season, winning the first three games.
Two unbeaten teams may then meet (results of Friday games after the editorial deadline).
Passau runs strong
Foster has not yet been able to fully convince himself of the qualities of the Passau team.
But has probably seen that the Black Hawks have some small, agile players.
"Passau is great in terms of running, certainly one of the strongest teams in the Oberliga in this respect," says Foster.
Clear instructions to his team: "We have to pay attention to the players, not just look at the disc and must not let the distance to the opponent become too great."
Close time for the fourth row
In terms of personnel, the lions can again draw on almost unlimited resources.
They just have to continue without captain Philipp Schlager, for whom a return to team training is too early.
Like on Friday, Foster places Timo Sticha and Dominik Gißibl next to Henry Sihling in the fourth row.
However, it does not get the full ice age yet.
"After all, the two have now been out for a longer period of time and have missed training accordingly."

Beware of goalscorer Cizek
The opponent is unsurprisingly high up in the table: Passau would definitely like to make it into the top ten, but they have strengthened themselves with less well-known players - apart from striker Jakub Cizek, who made it to 41 last season scored for the Czech third division club IHC Kralove.
The second contingent player, Carter Popoff, also scored points in the second French division last season.
In addition, the Lower Bavarians could sometimes fall back on players from the second division club EV Landshut, with whom they have a cooperation.
In general, however, Foster would like to react less to the opponent.
Rather, his team should pay attention to themselves and their match plan.
