In the third game, ESC Dorfen achieved their first win of the season.

On Sunday there was a 4:2 (2:1, 1:1, 1:0) away game at newly promoted EV Pegnitz in Mitterteich.

Pegnitz/Dorfen – The ice pirates started the away tour with a slightly different squad.

With Benedikt Dietrich, another seasoned defender had to sit out due to an injury from Friday's game, but Erik Walter was there for the first time.

As the only Bavarian league team without a roof over their heads, the Ice Dogs received the ice pirates in Mitterteich, 70 kilometers away.

"A really neat hall after the renovation," said the Dorfen "everyone" Richard Thiel.

The first part of the game didn't impress him that much, "because there wasn't much going on".

The young defenders on the ESC side had their problems with the hosts' forechecking.

One of these uncertainties also preceded the Pegnitzer opening goal by Eric Schuster after only 92 seconds.

With preliminary work from the young Felix Wiedenhofer (17) and Reik Walter (19), Urban Sodja scored a quick equalizer with a great flick (4th).

Pegnitz' Michael Breyer received the only penalty in the first period.

In the same minute, Sandro Schroepfer (18th) converted the majority into a 2-1 lead at break.

After the restart, the first penalty against Dorfen followed.

Maximilian Huber was in the pits for 47 seconds when the ex-Höchstadt Schuster (25th) scored for the second time.

Christoph Lönnig, who was retrained from attacker to defender last season, brought his Dorfen colors back in front just 23 seconds later.

Goalkeeper Max Englbrecht then became more and more of a big support at the ESC.

When two Pegnitzers, Ondrej Holomek and Jannek Gerstner, marched onto the penalty bench within 39 seconds, the Ice Pirates failed to extend their lead.

The only result was a post hit after a great shot by Huber during the double majority.

In the 46th and 47th minute, Sodja and Christof Hradek each conceded two penalty minutes on the Dorfen side, but Pegnitz was unable to capitalize on that either.

With his second goal of the game and goal number three of the season, Schroepfer scored in the 51st minute to make it 4:2 for the Ice Pirates.

Fighting strong and, if necessary, with a simple defensive game, the ESC brought this victory safely home in the final third.
