The Tel Aviv derby was stopped again this evening (Monday) because of a display of flares and smoke grenades, but this time things reached a climax.
About 20 seconds after the start of the game at Bloomfield Stadium, Maccabi Tel Aviv fans threw dozens of flares and smoke grenades onto the lawn, and right after that, Hapoel Tel Aviv fans responded with flares of their own.
Judge Roy Reinschreiber stopped the game and the police saboteurs entered the field and began to examine and collect the findings.
The police gave permission to resume the game in the 14th minute, Reinschreiber ordered the players to return to the field, but right after the whistle blew, more flares were thrown from the stands housing Hapoel Tel Aviv fans - which led to another stoppage of the game.
In the 24th minute the game resumed again and immediately a flare was thrown again.
At this point the announcer turned to the crowd and said: "If an object is thrown onto the field again, the game will be stopped and not resumed."
Immediately after, another flare was thrown by Hapoel Tel Aviv fans, but it was cleared and the game resumed.
Five minutes passed and during a corner kick by Maccabi Tel Aviv, Hapoel fans threw balls onto the field and caused a break again.

Even before the game, many fans of both teams complained that the police performed random owl checks at the entrance to the stands - unlike other games.
According to the evidence, a great many fans remained outside Bloomfield.
Others added that police officers took beer glasses from them by force and threats outside the stadium as well.
