For a decade and a half, the Reds fans have been waiting to see their team host a home game as part of the home stage of a European enterprise, and tonight they got an impressive debut with an impressive home victory over the British London Lions 59:76.
Hapoel Tel Aviv's coach, Danny Franco, summed up the game:
"I am very happy for the club and my players.
There were many worries and concerns, but we impressively won a difficult game.'
"It's just one game in a long way.
The atmosphere today was amazing.
For the first time we played with a full squad, there are still quite a few players who are still not up to speed, so it was clear that the game would not be smooth.
The defense was good especially in the second half and I am very satisfied with that.'
"Jacob?
This season is very important to him, he wants to take leadership and wants the team to succeed.
The team allows him to lead and today he was aggressive from the start and provided a display.
We have another way to go.'

London Lions coach Ryan Schmidt summed up the game:
"It was a tough game for us.
Losing Sam Decker early in the game hurt us a lot.
As soon as a talented team like Hapoel Tel Aviv runs away to a double-digit lead, it's hard to come back.'
"We didn't get the shots today.
On a day like this, playing without your star is difficult.
We tried to play with color but unfortunately we couldn't do what we wanted.
They did a great job.'
were we wrong
