Summary: Manchester City - Southampton 0:4 (Sport1)
Pep Guardiola did deny last week the claims of a release clause in Erling Holland's contract, but "Athletic" insist that there is one.
Today (Tuesday) it was reported on the British website that as part of his agreement with Manchester City, the Norwegian star could be released to another team if one of them pays the English champions around 200 million euros, but there is one condition: this team must be outside the Premier League.
This means that Holland could move to teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich if he so desired and they would be willing to pay, although it is important to emphasize that the same clause will only come into force in 2024 - according to the report.
Another interesting detail is that the amount of the release will decrease as the striker gets closer to the end of his contract, which expires in 2027, and teams that want his services will have to additionally pay the bonuses and commissions to his representatives.
In "Athletic" they even claimed that it is estimated that in two years, the two biggest teams in Spain will try to purchase Holland, and this in light of the fact that both are leading strikers in their 30s (Karim Benzema and Robert Lewandowski of course).
Obviously, such a transition is not at all on the agenda as of today, especially in view of the great acclimatization of the scorer in Manchester City in particular and in the Premier League in general, and Holland's chances of winning titles in Guardiola's team.
The Norwegian has already managed to score 20 goals in only 13 appearances in the blue uniform in all formats, and when you read this statistic it is hard to believe - but remember that he is only 22 years old, so at the end of his current contract he is expected to be at the peak of his career, meaning in even better shape than now.
As for the other teams in the English league, if it is even relevant when the time comes, they will have to wait until Holland becomes a free agent in just under five years to try and get their hands on him.
