The fourth round of the group stage of the Champions League continued tonight (Wednesday) with the qualification of Napoli after 2:4 over Ajax and Club Brugge, which ended in a draw against Atlético Madrid.

The main match brings together Barcelona and Inter in the battle for second place in Group C, with Bayern Munich able to secure a place in the round of 16 against Viktoria Plzen.

Liverpool will try to recover from the loss against Arsenal and complete a double win over Rangers, while Tottenham will look to put a peg in the top two places in Group D against Eintracht Frankfurt.

The European runner-up continued their bad season with a 3:2 loss to Arsenal in the last round of the Premier League, but in the Champions League they can take a significant step towards the next stage if they win in Glasgow.

Jurgen Klopp will have to manage without Luis Dias, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip who were injured in the loss to the Gunners.

Bayer Leverkusen - Porto 1:0 (1st half)

Xavi Alonso was on the scoresheet for the first time in Leverkusen's big 0:4 over Schalke on Saturday, and will now hope to lead his team to two consecutive victories, something they have not done this season.

Leverkusen won their only game this season at home in the Champions League, beating Atletico Madrid 0:2, and hope not to lose again to the dragons from Portugal, who are coming off a streak of three wins including the 0:2 over Leverkusen last week in Dragao.

The main game of the evening will bring together the Catalans and the Nerazzurri in the battle for second place.

As befits the house of death, it seems that the race to the round of 16 will only be decided in the last round, when Inter beat Barcelona in the previous round with a small and sweet 0:1 that gave them a three-point advantage over their rival from Spain.

Antonio Conte's team can take heart from the work that Dejan Kolosewski has returned to training after injury, but the home that looked simple for the Roosters turned out to be not so simple at all in the last two rounds.

Tottenham ended with a 2:0 loss in Lisbon against Sporting and a 0:0 against Frankenfort, whom they will now meet.

Harry Kane scored the winning goal for the team from London in a 0:1 against Brighton in the Premier League, but the Germans lost 3:0 to Bochum in the Bundesliga and will try to stabilize their season in London, perhaps on the way to a European surprise for the second season in a row.

Conte started with Harry Kane, Jung Min Son and Richarlison in the Roosters' attack, Mario riding the bench of the Europa League holders.

At the weekend, the French suffered their first loss of the season in the French league when they surrendered at home 2:1 to Accesio and now they will hope to return to the winning track and escape from last place at home in the Champions League.

Marseille defeated Sporting 1:4 last week, but Sporting at home already surprised Tottenham this season, beating them 0:2 in a dramatic game - in fact, Sporting's only setback this season at home was on August 27 in the league loss to Chance.

Alexis Sanchez started in Marseille's lineup, while Pedro Gonçalves and Francisco Trincão came up in Sporting's attack.
