Tiktukno: summary of today's events in sports, 12.10 (Sport1)
Little Burgos is in the second division in Spain for a total of two seasons.
Since its formation in 1984, the team from northern Spain played 18 years in the third division, during which time it was relegated to the fourth division and flashed for one season in the minor league (2001/02), but now it has entered history with an unprecedented achievement.
For the first time in the 93 years of the Spanish minor league, one team managed to keep a clean sheet for 12 consecutive games.
Burgos started this streak in the two final rounds of last season, and in 2022/23 it is still unbeaten and with a goal difference of 0:6 after 10 rounds.
The 28-year-old goalkeeper Chorifi, whose full name is Jose Antonio Caro, has signed all the clean sheets this season, when last season he shared two with Alfonso Herrero, who in the meantime managed to move to Mirandes.
After breaking the Spanish record for a clean sheet at the start of the season, being named player of the month for September in Segunda and also tonight (Wednesday) keeping the record in the 0:1 away win over Andorra (29 saves in total this season), Chorifi's next goal is to equalize football's record The whole Spanish.
This record is held by legendary former goalkeeper Abel Resino, who presented Chorifi with the award at the weekend.
Racino went 13 games without conceding for Atlético Madrid, between December 1990 and March 1991.
As I recall, the world record for a clean sheet at the start of a season was broken by Daniel Tanenbaum about three years ago with 1,272 minutes without conceding in the goal of Maccabi Tel Aviv, until he surrendered in the 14th round.
Tenenbaum tied for seventh all-time in terms of longest streaks in history, with Abel Racino ahead of him by three minutes.
The European record belongs to the Belgian Danny Verlinden (1,390 minutes in Club Brugge uniform in 1990) and the world record of Brazilian Mazaroppi (1,816 minutes in Vasco da Gama uniform in 1977-1978).
