There's something going on at TSV Weilheim: Am Zotzenmühlweg increases on 29./30.

October a top-class football tournament - with Bayern, Dortmund Augsburg and consorts.

Weilheim – Various junior coaches from the surrounding area, says youth leader Stefan Fischer, have already announced their coming – although they and their teams will not be at the TSV Weilheim football tournament on 29/30.

are there in October.

But clubs like FC Bayern Munich, Red Bull Salzburg, Wacker Innsbruck, Linzer ASK, Borussia Dortmund, FC Augsburg and Aarhus GF have a certain attraction.

When such big names in the scene compete in the region, it is worth taking a look as a spectator, also to maybe learn one or the other detail for your own amateur club.

What will soon be happening over two days at the sports grounds on Zotzenmühlweg at the

"GT Leben & Wohnen Cup"

with a total of 24 E-Youth teams "is something absolutely unique", says Dieter Pausch.

The TSV chairman finds it all the nicer that the event is also taking place to coincide with the anniversary "175 years of TSV Weilheim".

The junior tournament "is the icing on the cake," said Pausch at a press conference.

As far as direction is concerned, he is not worried: "The football department can do that," emphasizes Pausch.

Over the year, the division has already organized larger junior tournaments.

Pausch himself was on site as an interested observer: "It was busy there, but everything with a basic order." In general, the entire department management "did a top job in the background".

Stefan Fischer, who together with Peter Wild is the youth management team at the TSV football team, had been planning to host a top-class tournament for a long time.

He found a comrade-in-arms in Tobias Gebhard, who had been involved in youth football for a long time.

The opportunity presented itself through the agency “PT Sports”.

In April, the organizer had already worked with the TSV division in a competition for its "Germany Cup".

The facility at Zotzenmühlweg and the commitment of the department made an impression on "PT Sports", hence the request.

Adult football may have disappeared from the map at TSV, said Fischer, referring to an article in the local newspaper, but in the youth field and especially with the upcoming tournament, "Weilheim is now enriching the map".

The effort is considerable, "Bundesliga teams don't come for nothing," says Fischer.

On the one hand, there are entry fees that the top clubs demand, and on the other hand, there are requirements regarding accommodation and cabins.

Borussia Dortmund's U11s arrive by plane.

"We have to bear the costs for this," says Fischer.

At the same time, that means: "Without sponsors, something like this doesn't work."

He sees the event as the beginning of a process: "We want to make sure that football gets better again in Weilheim." During the two days, Gebhard will also be in action as a coach, namely with the U11s of FT Starnberg.

Of the clubs from the local region, two teams from TSV Weilheim, TSV Peiting, TSV Jesenwang and ASV Dachau are at the start.

The amateur clubs had to agree that they, or the parents of the respective players, would take in and feed players from the top clubs.

The organization takes over the agency "PT Sports".

The Dachauer will organize the shuttle service for BVB to and from the airport.

Red Bull Salzburg demanded accommodation in a youth hostel.

However, everything can be done a bit smaller: The SpVgg Unterhaching, it was said at the press conference, does not even require an entry fee.

A fee-based entry makes a contribution to covering costs.

It's now "common practice" at events like this, says Fischer.

During the tournament days, the football division can use, among other things, two tents of the district youth council.

The SVL Weilheim makes its cabins available.

In this context, TSV department head Thomas Penzkofer praises the "great cooperation" that has developed with the neighbors.

The A and B youths have agreed to help out.

The fact that TSV no longer has senior teams is an additional difficulty in this case, says Penzkofer.

However, emphasizes the division manager, you can always rely on the parents of the youngsters and their commitment.

The U11 games start at 9:30 a.m. on both Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30.

After a preliminary round, there are two placement rounds the next day.

In the "Gold Round" in the morning, it's all about winning the tournament.

In the "silver round" in the afternoon, the teams that ended up further down in their preliminary round group will meet.
