The German Football Association has awarded several media rights, this also applies to the national team of German footballers and the women's Bundesliga.

Where fans can watch the games:

Spectators of the national team do not have to change their position.

ARD and ZDF will continue to show the DFB selection in the future, which reliably brings them good ratings and set records at the European Championship.

The public broadcasters secured a new rights package until 2026/27.

According to the association and the broadcaster, this includes qualifying and friendly international matches for the DFB players.

"It is planned to show at least two matches per year in the evening in prime time," says a DFB statement.

The growing interest was particularly evident in the Bundesliga rights.

From the coming season, all games will be shown on two pay-TV channels.

Telekom can continue to show the 132 games via its Magenta Sport service, and Dazn will also be broadcasting in parallel from 2023.

Up to 32 games on free TV

In addition, from the 2023/2024 to 2026/2027 season there will also be 22 games on free-to-air TV on Sport1 and ten games on ARD and ZDF.

Summaries can also be seen on Sky, among others.

In the current season, around ten games are running on ARD - in the first, the third or in the stream.

All six games on a match day will have their own kick-off time from Friday to Monday, with the Monday game being a new addition.

This also makes itself felt financially.

According to the DFB, the license income will increase 16-fold compared to the current rights period and will amount to EUR 5.17 million gross annually from summer 2023.

For comparison: the revenues of the men's Bundesliga are 1.1 billion euros per season.

"The great interest in free and pay TV is a clear sign of the high level of attractiveness," said DFB Managing Director Holger Blask.

This will further increase visibility and improve the economic basis of football.
