A variable SC Riessersee gave the right answer to the botched start of the season on Friday evening: Ultimately, Garmisch-Partenkirchner beat EV Lindau 6:2.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen – A meager three points after four days of play in the ice hockey Oberliga Süd.

With that, SC Riessersee lagged far behind its own claims.

The defense in particular revealed surprising weaknesses – an average of four goals conceded per game.

For 20 minutes, the defense was also vulnerable when playing at home against the EV Lindau Islanders, but then the offensive calmed down and the SCR was able to win 6:2 and give the right answer in the first few games.

Sloppy defense allows Lindau two goals

Considering the botched start of the season, the game could not have started worse from the hosts' point of view.

Tobias Kircher went to work completely over-motivated, then took a seat in the penalty box, but only for a few seconds.

Because the white-blues preferred to be in the center as a threesome when one of them pushed out on Lindaus Arturs Sevcenko - the 0:1 in the third minute.

SCR digestion time: four hand revolutions.

Then he constricted the guests in their third and created chance after chance.

However, the 1:1 was not due to a lack of precision or the skills of EVL goalie Matthias Nemec.

Until the twelfth minute: Nemec could only drain a shot from Ryker Killins and Sebastian Cimmerman dusted off.

The reward for a strong phase of the hosts, small special applause from SCR coach Pat Cortina.

But instead of keeping up the pressure, the Riesserseer took their foot off the gas pedal and let the guests participate in the game again.

They quickly thanked them with another goal - with active help from the white-blue team.

They let themselves be put under unnecessary pressure behind their own goal.

The consequence: the deflected disc landed directly on Alexander Dosch's racket.

The difference in third one: Lindau needed four chances for two goals, the SCR twice the number for a goal.

SCR turns the game within three minutes

But that changed quickly in the second half.

At first, the EVL watched idly as Killins marched down the left flank and threw the puck into the crease, then flunked out when Uli Maurer scored the 3:2 from an actually unfavorable shooting position.

But that's not all: five minutes and 21 seconds played in the second third, when the SCR had scored a two-goal lead from behind.

Hit number four was a nice one.

After a nice combination of Marlon Wolf and Cimmerman, Luca Allavena was released.

His shot was only followed by cheers after a short delay, as the goal scorer hadn't seen the disc in the net.

Lindau's reaction: first a break.

Take a quick breather, process what just happened.

Only helped for a short time.

In minute 33, Kircher tapped three times with his ice bat,

Felix Linden had already served him and Kircher was able to net the disc past Nemec.

The rest of the second section offered few highlights.

Nevertheless, Cortina should have been happy about these 20 minutes, because in them the white-blue put his plan, his philosophy on ice.

Sometimes they played the disc deep into the opposing third, sometimes they worked out the puck with aggressive forechecking, sometimes they got into the attacking third with a fine pass relay, sometimes with speed.

The SCR was variable and especially the young series around Wolf, Cimmerman and Allavena was fun.

Six goals, six different goalscorers

The final third was a torn one for a long time.

Although Lindau bravely defended itself against an even greater defeat, the Riesserseer team kept getting their chances.

The next used someone who had not yet scored for the SCR: Sam Verelst made it 6: 2 (52nd).

The SCR once again proved its unpredictability.

Eight different scorers were already on the list in the 8:2 win over Landsberg, this time there were six.

Reason enough for the white-blue fans to look euphorically at the derby on Sunday at the Tölzer Löwen after the final siren and to present a poster with the inscription "The derby victory is non-negotiable" as well as the second win of the young season with the SCR players to celebrate.
