Tower in battle: The gladiators around (white jerseys, from left) Roni Rukajärvi and Ryan Murphy despaired of Waldkraiburg goalkeeper Christoph Lode, who was also self-sacrificingly supported by his teammates like (blue jerseys, from left) Florian Maierhofer and Lars Bernhardt, who always boldly threw in the shots again.

Third away game this season, and for the third time the Erding Gladiators had to start the journey home empty-handed.
Waldkraiburg/Erding – On Friday evening there was a 1:4 (0:1, 0:1, 1:2) defeat at EHC Waldkraiburg.
Match winner on the side of the lions was goalkeeper Christoph Lode.
There was a derby atmosphere in the Waldkraiburg ice rink - as always when the lions and the gladiators meet.
At the Erdinger gang this time was assistant coach Bernhard Bittel, who stood in for the sick coach Andy Becher.
The Gladiators started well.
They were superior and also had a clear advantage in chances, but like last time in Schweinfurt, the chances could not be converted - the conclusions were too imprecise.
In addition, EHC goalkeeper Christoph Lode kept strong.
The lions were waiting for a counterattack and were successful in the 10th minute.
After a well-presented attack, it was the lightning-fast Philipp Lode who overcame Erding's keeper Thomas Hingel to make it 1-0.
The final phase of the first section then clearly belonged to the hosts.
The gladiators could hardly free themselves, but what came on goal was a safe prey for Hingel.
In the second period, the gladiators' superiority was back, but they found no remedy against the low-lying lions.
They closed their own third, continued to lurk for counterattacks - and were successful again.
In the follow-up, Philipp Lode was again successful and made it 2-0 for Waldkraiburg.
Erding continued to push the pace and then had really good scoring opportunities: Erik Modlmayr, Florian Zimmermann, Ryan Murphy and Philipp Michl ran towards goal alone, but none of them had adjusted their sights correctly and each put the puck over it.
And nothing changed in the course of the game in the final section either, meanwhile it was a game of Gladiators against keeper Christoph Lode.
When an Erdinger was in the penalty box, it was Michal Popelka who made the preliminary decision 3-0 (50th).
The Gladiators didn't give up and threw everything forward in the closing stages.
Outnumbered, Mark Waldhausen heaved the puck into the net to make it 1:3 (54th).
But when Coach Bittel got his goalkeeper off the ice for a sixth field player, Florian Maierhofer pushed the puck into the empty goal to make it 4-1 (59th).
The lions cheered, the gladiators are one disappointment richer.
