After an intense summer in the youth teams alongside the lack of success with the senior team in the European Championship, Finney Gershon spoke for the first time about what happened in the team in his personal podcast.
On Guy Goodes: "It's not true that they wanted to fire him, and it was forbidden to say that. Guy is one of the best coaches we have, come tell me who can replace him?".
On Danny Avdia: "Guy understood that we have a problem. To play drills on him? In Washington, he stands in the corner and waits to be handed over to him. If Danny is not in the Israel team, he does not make it to the NBA."
On Zofi Avdia's interview in Serbia during the championship in which he said it was a shame that Danny did not choose to play in Serbia: "You were interviewed in Serbia, don't you know that it also comes to Israel from Honolulu? And what are we? An important game night. In the same year that Danny won the European Championship with the reserve, Serbia was relegated."
On the claim that Goodes improvises: "That's the last thing that can be said about him. I'm telling you that Guy's game is too organized and planned and anyone who doesn't understand him doesn't have much basketball sense."
On the preparation for the championship: "Bringing a citizen? He has to be good and have some connection to the country. We had training games in the neighborhood."
